Reebok Unveils New Goalie Gear
So Reebok is getting into lacrosse. Recently, it was announced by the NLL and Reebok that Reebok would be the official equipment and apparel sponsor for the league. Now the Lacrosse Journal has posted some photos of the first generation box lacrosse goalie equipment (see the link above). It seems Reebok either bought Maxlax or worked with them to create the gear and for the most part just put the Reebok logo on the gear with some minor modifications. So, Reebok gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads and rib pads must not be far behind. Will the NLL gear be any good and will it be available here in the States where it is extremely difficult to get a hold of true boxla gear? Only time will tell.
The Reebok Hockey line was recently launched with a similar sponsorship announcement for the NHL. The Reebok Hockey equipment doesn't look too bad and the helmet actually looks to be an improved version of a Bauer 5000. If they can make lacrosse specific gear of this quality they should be able to do well in the market.
