OLN Nears Goal to Win Lacrosse Package
Finally, it looks like the NLL will get a national television deal in the United States. OLN is looking to expand their coverage of team sports and recently signed a deal to air NHL games. Now it seems they are pursuing a deal with the NLL that would see a game of the week aired on Saturday or Sunday throughout the NLL season.
I've enjoyed OLN for a number of years - particularly their coverage of the Tour de France which has brought excellent visibility to an obscure sport (to the majority of American sports fans) over the past few years. Of course it helped that Lance Armstrong was wearing the yellow jersey for much of that time but OLN's coverage has definitely helped cyclings profile.
Hopefully this deal goes through and the NLL is able to build on their momentum of the NBC airing of the All-Star game and Champions Cup final last year.
