Colorado Mammoth 12 Calgary Roughnecks 7
The Colorado Mammoth began the new year with a win over the Calgary Roughnecks. In the series history, this is the first time the home team has been victorious. In their last meeting, Calgary defeated Colorado in the semi final match of the 2004 playoffs.
This season is to be Gary Gait's last playing box. He will retire as the leader in almost every NLL offensive category but in recent years the Champions Cup has eluded him as the Mammoth have lost in the semis for several years running (losing as the Baltimore Thunder prior to their move to Colorado).
